Salvia Divinorum "Blosser strain" Live Plants
Salvia divinorum (pronounced SAL-vee-ah dee-vin-OR-um)--frequently referred to as "Ska Maria Pastora" and "Diviner's Sage"--is a perennial herb in the mint family that resembles sage. The plant is native to certain areas of the Sierra Mazateca region of Oaxaca, Mexico, but can be grown in any humid, semitropical climate as well as indoors. It grows in large clusters and reaches over 6 feet in height.

The history of salvia and its relationship with mankind is a relatively simple and easy history to study, since salvia divinorum occurs in the wild in one only place on earth. This place, root of all strains of salvia divinorum's history , is called Oaxaca and lies in tribal Mexico. Anthropologists such as Albert Hoffman and Gordon Wasson have been visiting shamans in these places since the 60s. A few times in the history of salvia divinorum, these explorers managed to retrieve viable samples of salvia plants and were able to grow and clone them.
